Event Coordinator/Board Liason

POSITION SUMMARY

This flexible, part time staff position coordinates events and assists the board, as priorities dictate, with tasks including event planning, social media communications, meetings, schedules, and activities of the organization, the Board of Directors, Donors, and other major internal and external audience groups.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:  

  1. Coordinate and staff annual oNE OKC Event by recruiting planning committee members, facilitating and documenting meetings, revising and submitting required city special event documentation, managing vendor communication and payment, reporting planning progress monthly, and leading event day efforts.

  2. Provide administrative and planning support for community events and activities including but not limited to PlaceKeepers Developers Conference, State of NE OKC, Juneteenth on the East, and East End planning meetings 

  3. Provide administrative support for board of directors, including preparation and distribution of meeting minutes and correspondence as appropriate. Also creates and modifies documents such as reports, memos, and letters using word processing, spreadsheet, database and/or other presentation software such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office suite, QuickBooks or other programs. 

  4. Supports board president in preparation and implementation of all governing board functions including support of board meetings logistics, calendars/schedules, and communications, development and implementation of annual calendar/planning cycle, including strategic planning, annual planning, staff events, and planning/implementation of daily schedules and meetings.

  5. Manages social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), posts and responds to comments weekly, also creates and sends monthly newsletter via Mailchimp

  6. Supports fundraising activities as needed. 

  7. Represents board president, board, and NEOKCR as appropriate, possessing and reflecting a professional, energetic, and personable demeanor.   

  8. Other duties as assigned by the board president and board.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

BS or BA degree preferred. Knowledge and experience in corporate organization and development, communications, and/or writing preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have good communication skills and possess the ability to write minimal routine correspondence, answer phones and support board. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Typing and computer skills are necessary to adequately perform this job.  Knowledge of Word and Excel are also a necessary element to perform this job.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Must be able to problem solve and communicate effectively and efficiently.

 

TECHNOLOGY DEMANDS

Access to a computer and internet for work tasks.
